I cannot recommend Carla enough as a book designer, though I think that title doesn’t begin to capture the skills and services she brings to the job. She helped my coauthor and I publish our book—we went live with it on Amazon a few weeks ago—and, from start to finish, she was a consummate professional, responsive to our queries, sensitive to our creative preferences, an impeccable listener, a stupendous designer (not only of the front and back covers, but everything in between, too),a guide to the world of self-publishing, a fount of knowledge about Amazon and IngramSpark, and a tireless worker who did various tasks to help us get live (and continues to assist us with how to do promotions, advice on pricing, and more). I know that was a very run-on sentence—and would have been duly edited by the editor that Carla recommended—but this is a review and hopefully it’s okay to wax poetic here. Long story short: Hire Carla! You will be thrilled—repeatedly—with your decision, you will learn a lot from her, and you will benefit from a collaborative experience with a very talented book designer.
