This project was a data-intensive, 800-page auto parts catalog that was produced in collaboration with a database developer to automate the export of data from the client’s database. Formatting tags were embedded into the data exports to streamline the layout process, including placement of over 2,500 images. InDesign scripting was also utilized.
The project scope included:
- Interior design and complex page layout for 800-page catalog
- Access client mysql database to extract data according to specifications
- Extensive use of InDesign tables, scripting and data merge functionality
- Incorporate Japanese translation for page and column headings
- Project management
